What Is WithYouAgain? Your Questions About Our AI Pet Memorial Video, Answered

If you have found your way here, there is a good chance you are missing someone with paws, whiskers, or feathers. This page answers the questions people usually ask the first time they hear about WithYouAgain, plainly and in one place, so you can decide calmly whether it is right for you.
One thing first, because it matters most: every WithYouAgain video is AI-generated. It is made by AI from your photo. It is not real footage of your pet, and it does not bring anyone back. It is a tribute, one more way to see them.
1. What is WithYouAgain?
WithYouAgain makes a short AI pet memorial video from a photo of your pet. The current scene is inspired by Día de Muertos: your pet walks a glowing path of cempasúchil (marigold) petals, back home to their ofrenda.
It is made for people remembering a pet who has passed away, whether that was last week or many years ago.
You can start on the homepage. There is no app to install and no account to create.
2. What does the finished video look like?
Here is what you receive:
- A 20-second vertical video, a natural fit for a phone screen
- Two files: one with soft music and one silent, so you can add your own sound or share it quietly
- No watermark
- Yours to download and keep
Our Terms of Service describe the scene: your pet walks a path of marigold flowers home, sits in front of their ofrenda, and a gentle hand strokes their head.
The video ends with a memorial card: their photo, their name, and a few words from you. The words are optional. If you leave them empty, the card shows only their photo and name.
The videos you see on our homepage are labeled "Example · AI video." They are examples made the same way yours would be. They are not customer stories or testimonials.
3. Is this specifically for pets who have passed away?
Yes, that is what it is designed for. The idea comes from a belief held in many Mexican homes: during the Día de Muertos season, the souls of those we have lost return to visit, and pets are remembered too. Our video shows that homecoming, a pet who has passed away walking the marigold path back to the people who still keep a place for them.
It is also meant for pets who left long ago. An old photo of a childhood dog or a cat you lost years ago is a welcome reason to make one. And it does not have to be October 27: you can make one any day, for Día de Muertos on November 1–2, a birthday, or the day they left.
4. What photo do I need? Is one enough?

One clear photo of your pet is enough to begin. The upload step asks for a Main photo: "The main identity reference for your pet and the real photo used on their memorial card." So the photo you choose here is the one the AI works from most, and it is also the real photo that appears on the card at the end of the video.
You can add up to 3 photos of the same pet. As the upload box puts it: "One pet, up to 3 photos. The clearer their face, the more it looks like them." Extra photos are optional; they simply give the AI more to go on.
Right under the upload box you will see: "Your photos stay private and are deleted within 7 days after your video is generated."
A few practical tips:
- Choose a photo where their face is clear and well lit. Face and ears visible, good light. Any ordinary phone photo works, old ones too.
- One pet per video. If you would like to remember two pets, make a video for each.
- Use a photo of your own pet. Before you continue, you confirm that the photo is of your pet, that you accept the Terms, and that you understand the video is AI-generated.
You will also tell us a little about them: whether they were a dog, a cat, or another kind of pet, and, for the memorial card at the end, their name and a few words if you would like.
5. Will the video actually look like my pet?
We will be honest: AI does not get every detail right every time. We use your photo as the reference for their fur, markings, and face. A clear, front-facing photo gives it the best chance. Blurry, very dark, or far-away photos make a good likeness harder.
That is why there are safeguards before and after you pay:
- You can see a free preview first (see the next question).
- If the finished video doesn't look like your pet, we remake it once, free (see question 8).
6. Can I see anything before I pay?
Yes. After you add a photo, you can see the first scene, your own pet on the marigold path, for free, before you decide whether to buy the full video. That picture becomes the first frame of your video.
If you would rather go straight to the full video, you can choose "Skip the preview." Free previews are subject to a daily limit; if you reach it, you can still make the video, or come back the next day.
7. How much does it cost? Is it a subscription?

No subscription and no app. You pay once. Current prices on our Pricing page, in US dollars:
| Option | Price |
|---|---|
| One video | $9.90 early bird (regular price $15.99) |
| Three videos | $19.90. Make the other two within 12 months, for any pet. |
Every video includes the 20-second vertical video, the music and silent files, no watermark, a free remake if it doesn't look like your pet, and a free remake if generation technically fails. Each purchased video is a credit that is valid for 12 months.
Checkout is handled securely by Stripe. We never see your card number.
8. What happens if the result doesn't look right?
There are three situations, and each is handled differently. The full details are on our Refund Policy.
- If generation technically fails (for example, the video breaks or doesn't finish), it does not count: you can make it again at no cost from the link in your email. You do not need to ask.
- If it doesn't look like your pet (for example, a different coat color, another animal, or a broken image), email hello@withyouagain.com within 7 days using the email address on your order, and tell us what the problem is. We will make it again once for free, or give that video back to your order so you can make it again with another photo.
- If the photo itself was the problem (blurry, dark, or partly hidden), write to us within 7 days. We will help you with the photo and make the video again once, at no cost.
9. Can I get a refund?
- If you haven't made any video yet, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of buying.
- If a video was made successfully, it is not refunded automatically, because each video costs real AI processing. If you are still unhappy, write to us and a person will look at your order with you.
This policy does not limit any rights you have under your local consumer law.
10. Are my photos private?
Your photo is used only to make your video. From our Privacy Policy:
- We never share or sell your photo.
- We do not use your photos or videos for advertising, and we do not show them publicly without your permission.
- Photos and videos are stored privately. Only someone with your private link can open your video.
- To create the video, your photo is processed by an AI video and image generation provider. Our providers may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Payment confirmation comes from our payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
When you share your video, we ask that you let people know it was made with AI. It is a tribute, and being open about how it was made keeps it that way.
11. How long are my photos and videos kept?
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your uploaded photo | Deleted within 7 days after your video is made |
| Your finished video | Stays at your private link for 30 days. Download it to keep it. |
| Basic usage records (including IP address) | Up to 12 months |
You can ask us to delete your photo, your videos, and your email at any time by writing to hello@withyouagain.com.
Because the video link expires after 30 days, please download both files once your video arrives.
12. How long does it take, and how do I get my video?
- Add a photo of your pet.
- Tell us about them: dog or cat, big or small, their name and a few words for the end.
- Get the link by email, within 12 hours. No account needed. You can close the page; we email you as soon as it is ready.
Need it sooner, for example for tonight's ofrenda? Email hello@withyouagain.com with your order link and we will do our best to arrange it.
If you can't find the email, go to Find my video and enter the email address you used to pay. We will send links to your videos to that inbox.
One thing to keep in mind for your safety: we only ever email you from hello@withyouagain.com, and never with attachments. If a message claiming to be from us looks different, don't open its attachment.
13. Why October 27, and why Día de Muertos?

Illustration of a pet ofrenda, generated by AI. It is not a photo of a real pet and not a screenshot of the product.
In Mexico, many families believe that pets who have passed away return home on the night of October 27, a few days before Día de Muertos. It is a popular custom, not an official date: Día de Muertos itself is centuries old, while the pet day is much newer and has spread quickly in recent years. In some traditions, October 28 is dedicated to those who died tragically, including in accidents; November 1 is Día de los Angelitos, for children; and November 2 is the main Día de Muertos. Every home observes it in its own way.
The ofrenda (home altar), the candles, and the marigold petals that light the path home are ways of saying: you are still remembered here. That is the feeling our video is built around. You don't need to be from Mexico to want that for your pet, but we try to treat the tradition with respect rather than as a costume. If you'd like to know more, see our guide to the October 27 pet ofrenda.
14. Is it okay to make one, or to give one to a friend?
There is no right way to grieve. For some people, seeing their pet walk home again is comforting. For others it can feel too soon, or simply not right. Both reactions are normal.
If you are thinking of making one for a friend who lost a pet, ask them gently first whether they would like something like this, and let them know it is AI-generated. A surprise can land very differently on a hard day. If they say yes, use a photo of their pet and pay with your own email; we send the link to you, and you can share the link or the downloaded video with them. The three-video option can be used for any pet, so you can make one for yourself and keep the others for family or friends, within 12 months.
15. Can I trust you with something this personal?
That is a fair question to ask any website, especially about photos that mean this much. We would rather show you how things work than ask you to take our word for it:
- See before you pay: the first scene is free.
- Pay once: no subscription and no account. Checkout is handled by Stripe.
- Clear safeguards: a free remake if the video doesn't look like your pet, a free remake if it technically fails, and a full refund within 14 days if no video has been made.
- Your photo has a short life with us: it is deleted within 7 days after your video is made, and you can ask us to delete everything sooner.
- A real inbox: hello@withyouagain.com.
How to make an AI memorial video of a pet who passed away: the short version
- Choose a clear photo where your pet's face is easy to see. This becomes their Main photo and appears on the memorial card. You can add up to two more photos of the same pet.
- Go to withyouagain.com, add the photo, and tell us whether they were a dog, a cat, or another pet.
- Watch the free preview of the first scene, or skip it.
- Add their name and, if you like, a few words for the end of the video.
- If it feels right, pay once (see pricing).
- Watch for an email with your link, within 12 hours.
- Download both files (music and silent) within 30 days.
However you choose to remember them, we hope this October they feel a little closer to home.
